Job Overview

At Pivotel, we are a team dedicated to delivering the very best satellite services, equipment and solutions to customers worldwide. We are seeking an outstanding Applications Developer responsible for the design and coding of functional programs and applications as part of our satellite communication products and solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong front-end skills and must be familiar with a variety of operating systems and platforms. The ideal candidate will also have an analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail. The goal is to write “clean” and flawless code to produce fully functional software applications according to requirements. Our Product Development team members are encouraged to use their initiative and think outside the square to exceed customer and partner expectations, while meeting the needs of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand product requirements and how they translate in application features
  • Collaborate with product and development teams to set specifications for new applications
  • Design creative prototypes according to specifications
  • Write high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines
  • Perform unit and integration testing before launch
  • Conduct functional and non-functional testing
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
  • Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred
  • Proven experience as application developer
  • Experience in designing and building applications. Portfolio preferred
  • Advanced ability to program in programming languages such as JavaScript, Objective C, Java etc.
  • Advanced ability to program in frameworks such as React
  • In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools
  • Ability to seamlessly integrate with back-end developers, APIs, dynamic content and templating
  • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Great attention to detail and time-management skills
